Yet Christ’s words—and the testimony of the Apostles—are so arresting that many Christians prefer to overlook them. Even Catholics frequently pass over passages such as Matthew 27:18, John 5:16–18, John 8:44–47, Acts 12:3, Acts 24:27, 1 Thessalonians 2:15, Apocalypse 2:9 and Apocalypse 3:9.

Fr. Mawdsley argues that these passages reveal something essential: at its root, the Jewish Question is neither merely political nor racial, but spiritual.
