The Idaho GOP's grassroots movement scored another major victory this weekend as delegates from across the state gathered in Meridian for the 2026 Idaho Republican State Convention.
In a closely watched three-way race, Chairwoman Dorothy Moon secured a historic third term, becoming the first Idaho GOP chairman to do so in more than four decades. Delegates also elected an entirely female statewide officer team, signaling strong support for the party's current grassroots leadership heading into the 2026 election cycle.
But the convention's biggest surprise came on the resolutions floor.
In a decisive vote, delegates overwhelmingly rejected a pro-Israel resolution, arguing that the Idaho Republican Party should focus on Idaho issues and America First priorities rather than foreign policy disputes. The vote drew attention both inside and outside the state, highlighting the growing influence of a non-interventionist wing within the Republican grassroots.
