Episode 148 — Reading the New & Improved 2026 Idaho GOP Platform

Show notes

What does the Idaho Republican Party actually stand for?

On this episode of The Backlash, Dave Reilly takes a deep dive into the newly adopted 2026 Idaho Republican Party Platform, reading the document section by section and breaking down what it means for Idaho voters, activists, elected officials, and the future direction of the state's dominant political party.

From immigration, education, property rights, and taxation to foreign policy, public lands, family issues, and the role of government itself, we'll examine the principles and policies that Idaho Republicans officially adopted at the 2026 State Convention.

We'll discuss where the platform reflects the concerns of grassroots Idahoans, where it departs from the priorities of party leadership, and how these positions compare to what lawmakers are actually doing once they get to Boise and Washington, D.C.

Whether you're a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or simply curious about the political future of Idaho, this episode offers an unfiltered look at one of the most important political documents in the state.

Read the platform yourself, follow along, and join the conversation as we explore what the Idaho GOP says it believes—and what those beliefs could mean for Idaho's future.

And so now [0:04:40] we're going to be diving in. We're going to dive right in to the Idaho Republican Party platform. [0:04:45] Of course, this was just released yesterday or two days ago. They put the tweet out [0:04:50] with the new platform that was adopted at the big GOP convention that we covered. [0:04:57] If you haven't seen the recap, I did a big show on Monday about what happened at the Idaho GOP meeting. [0:05:03] And so one of the big things that happened is the adoption of the platform. [0:05:08] It was amended. There are some new amendments in there about property taxes and life issues when it comes to abortion. [0:05:16] So, without further ado, let me just make sure that I'm hydrated. Oh, yeah. [0:05:26] The Idaho GOP 2026 Republican Party Platform adopted June 20th, 2026 in Meridian. [0:05:37] We're not going to go over the table of contents because we're going to get to that organically. [0:05:41] So here we go. This is the preamble. [0:05:43] We are Republicans because [0:05:46] We believe the strength of our nation lies with our faith and reliance on God, our Creator, the individual, and the family, [0:05:53] and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability, and responsibility must be honored. [0:05:59] We believe we are inheritors of a distinct Western civilization, [0:06:02] and that our traditional culture safeguards our identity as a free people. [0:06:07] We believe in American exceptionalism. [0:06:09] We believe the United States of America is unlike any other country on earth. [0:06:14] We believe the United States Constitution is the most inspired document to govern a nation, [0:06:19] and the Republican form of government it gives us is the best guarantor of freedom in history. [0:06:26] We believe in equal rights, equal justice, equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, or disability. [0:06:34] We believe human life begins at conception and is protected by the unalienable rights endowed by our creator, along with the fundamental right to life, and shall not be infringed upon. [0:06:46] We believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative has brought this nation opportunity, economic growth, and prosperity. [0:06:54] We believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and that taxpayers should allow, shall allow government the only money necessary to provide constitutionally specified functions. [0:07:07] We believe that our founding fathers gave us a government that is a servant of the people, not our master. [0:07:12] The proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions which individuals or private organizations cannot perform. [0:07:22] We believe the most effective, responsible, responsive government is government closest to the people, and that sovereignty of the state must be protected, that government is best that governs least. [0:07:36] We believe Idahoans must protect the principles and values that have made us strong. [0:07:40] We believe Idahoans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working together to promote peace, freedom, and human rights throughout the world. [0:07:51] We believe the protection of individual rights is upheld when personal responsibility for behavior is exercised. [0:07:58] We believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive, successful principles of government. [0:08:07] We therefore adopt the following platform. [0:08:14] Excuse me. [0:08:16] Article 1, Responsibility in Government. [0:08:19] Section 1, Fiscal Responsibility. [0:08:22] Subsection A, the Idaho Republican Party recognizes that all government is financed by taxing its citizens. [0:08:30] We believe the size and cost of government as well as the national debt must be reduced. [0:08:35] Subsection B, we believe Social Security must be stabilized, diversified, and privatized to allow expansion of individual retirement options. [0:08:46] We believe in a balanced budget and support congressional action to pass a balanced budget amendment. [0:08:56] D. We believe the growth of government is unnecessary and has a negative impact on both the conduct of business and our individual lives. [0:09:06] We endorse the review of all government programs and encourage their assumption by private enterprise where appropriate and workable. [0:09:16] E. We expect the government entity which mandates a program to provide the funding for its implementation. [0:09:24] F. We believe the state legislature should appropriate funds only for purposes and to the extent required to meet government's constitutional obligations. [0:09:36] Any current programs, functions, or activities of government that are not required by the Constitution should be repealed, defunded, and left to the private sector. [0:09:48] Section 2. Taxation [0:09:50] Subsection A. [0:09:52] We support lower federal, state, and local taxes. [0:09:57] High taxes are a burden on businesses, families, and individuals. [0:10:01] We believe that tax reductions can be achieved by cutting spending on every level, federal, state, and local. [0:10:08] We believe that lower taxes will result in increased revenue to the government as the private sector will thrive. [0:10:15] C. We believe Idaho's tax structure should be predictable, fair, and balanced. [0:10:22] Property tax is an inherently unjust tax that converts privately owned property into government collateral and threatens home ownership. [0:10:31] We support the elimination of property taxes in Idaho and their replacement with revenue sources that do not place a lien on a citizen's home. [0:10:41] D. We support true government transparency that allows the public to review all local, state, and federal government expenditures, contracts, and audits online. [0:10:53] We support uniform accounting systems that allow taxpayers to compare and analyze government spending and trends. [0:11:01] E. We believe that Idaho citizens should not and or shall not be taxed for federally mandated health care. [0:11:11] F. We believe voters' approval should be required prior to approval of debt-financed city projects. [0:11:20] Municipal laws that allow public dollars to be converted to private use [0:11:25] and government entities to compete against the private sector [0:11:29] or divert public money to special projects without support of the taxpayer must be repealed. [0:11:37] G. We support the total abolition of inheritance taxes. [0:11:41] H. We support a comprehensive overhaul of the federal tax system requiring universal participation. [0:11:51] I. We support the repeal of the 16th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. [0:11:59] That's the income tax, by the way. [0:12:01] Section 3. Reform of Congress. [0:12:03] The Idaho Republican Party support an overhaul of the legislative process in Congress to allow, one, more time for members to study legislation. [0:12:16] Two, more opportunity for citizens to testify at hearings. [0:12:20] Three, debate on legislation before members rather than speeches in empty chambers for a C-SPAN audience. [0:12:27] 4. Objections to the inclusion of unrelated subject matter in a single bill. [0:12:34] 5. More oversight and transparency in the earmark process and an end to abuse and use of earmarks for financial gain to a member. [0:12:46] 6. And a more orderly process for consideration of legislation similar to that of the Idaho legislature. [0:12:54] Subsection B. Idaho Republicans will continue to lead the fight to reduce the growth of government, bureaucracy, and promote private enterprise and individual initiative in the marketplace as the solution for our domestic policy challenges. [0:13:10] C. We support restoration of the Constitution's checks and balances that protects the right and sovereignty of the states by repealing the 17th Amendment. [0:13:24] That's, of course, how senators are chosen. [0:13:27] Section 4. Sound Currency [0:13:29] Subsection A [0:13:59] Idahoans need to protect their savings from the ravages of inflation, which is hidden taxation, [0:14:06] and encourages citizens to participate in a systematic acquisition of precious metals or other assets which represent real value as opposed to fiat currencies. [0:14:19] B. We oppose the creation of a central bank digital currency. [0:14:23] the regulation and or excessive taxation of decentralized currency, digital currency such as Bitcoin, [0:14:32] and we affirm the right of individuals to engage in commerce and exchange with cash, barter, precious metals, and decentralized digital currencies. [0:14:44] Section 5. State Legislature. [0:14:47] Subsection A. [0:14:48] We encourage continued strong support for our state legislature directed by Republicans for more than three decades, as well as our elected constitutional officers, and for the manner in which they work together to balance the budget and improve Idaho's economy. [0:15:06] B. We support the current move to zero-based budgeting or other appropriate budgeting techniques. [0:15:14] We believe growth can be attained in a sound, responsible manner by holding taxes down, granting business incentives, and refusing to grant excessive demands for increased spending. [0:15:27] C. We support reduction of Idaho's income tax rates and the elimination of property taxes. [0:15:34] We call on the Idaho legislature to develop and implement a plan to fully replace property tax revenue with alternative funding sources that do not threaten homeownership. [0:15:48] D. We believe the state of Idaho should strongly assert its sovereignty under the 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution. [0:15:56] It has now come about that the accumulated usurpations by the federal government of Idaho's state sovereignty has reached a point of complete intolerance. [0:16:07] The Idaho Republican Party hereby recommends that the Idaho legislature and governor nullify any and all existing and future unconstitutional federal mandates, federal court opinions and laws funded or unfunded that infringe on Idaho's 10th Amendment sovereignty. [0:16:28] We also recommend that the state of Idaho continue to request funding and assistance from the federal government, which complies with the constitutional provision of the Tenth Amendment and recommend that the state of Idaho resist the withholding of federal funds as a means of forced compliance with the unconstitutional federal mandates and laws. [0:16:54] E. We support the right of every qualified citizen to seek elective office, affirm the right of voters to vote for the candidate of their choice, recognize the need for experience and institutional memory in elective office, and oppose the imposition of term limits in Idaho. [0:17:15] F. We support amending the Idaho Constitution, Article 3, Subsection 2, as follows. [0:17:23] Strike Paragraph 2 and amend as follows. [0:17:28] Quote, wherever there is reason to reapportion the legislature or to provide for new congressional district boundaries in the state or both, [0:17:37] Because of a new federal census or because of a decision of a court of competent jurisdiction, a commission for reapportionment should be formed on order of the Secretary of State. [0:17:51] The commission shall be composed of six members to be appointed as follows. [0:17:55] A. The leaders of the two largest political parties of each house of the legislature shall designate one member. [0:18:02] B. The state chairman of the two largest political parties determined by the vote cast for governor in the last gubernatorial election shall each designate one member. [0:18:15] C. However, for a political party to be eligible to appoint members to the commission, as provided in subparagraphs A and B, the political party must satisfy at least one of the following requirements. [0:18:30] 1. Average of at least 22% of all the ballots cast in four of the previous primary elections. [0:18:39] 2. Elected at least two constitutional officers in the preceding 10 years. [0:18:46] Subsection D, same area. [0:18:49] In the event that only one political party satisfies a requirement to be eligible to appoint members to the commission, [0:18:56] the remaining three members shall be appointed by the eligible political party's state central committee. [0:19:03] E. In the event that any appointing authority does not select the members within 15 calendar days following the Secretary of State's order to form the commission, [0:19:14] such members shall be appointed by the Supreme Court. [0:19:18] No member of the commission may be an elected or appointed official in the state of Idaho at the time of designation or selection. [0:19:29] G. We believe the legislature should present amendments to the people with the ballot language identical to the language of the amendment. [0:19:43] Section 6. Honest Elections and the Electoral College [0:19:47] A. We oppose the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact and any other scheme to abolish or distort the procedures of the Electoral College. [0:19:59] An unconstitutional effort to impose National Popular Vote would be a grave threat to our federal system and a guarantee of corruption, [0:20:09] as every ballot box in every state would offer a chance to steal the United States presidency. [0:20:14] We urge the Idaho state legislature to oppose any attempts to modify the Electoral College or adopt the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. [0:20:26] Article 2. Citizen Involvement in Government [0:20:30] The Idaho Republican Party believes the government works best when its citizens become actively involved. [0:20:38] The party encourages all citizens to engage in healthy debate on all issues that will increase citizen control of government. [0:20:47] Section 1. [0:20:49] We encourage all citizens to educate themselves in constitutional government and to be full participants in the political process. [0:20:57] Section 2. [0:20:58] We seek to heighten the level of discourse by encouraging all officeholders, candidates, and citizens to be civil, dignified, honest, and forthright in their discussions, actions, statements, and political processes. [0:21:14] This includes the actions of special interest groups who provide support for or against any Idaho candidate. [0:21:23] Section 3 [0:21:24] We believe primary elections in the Idaho Republican Party should be open to all people who have affiliated as Republicans at least one year prior to the primary election and who support a vast majority of the Idaho Republican platform. [0:21:42] To allow those who have no loyalty or allegiance to the Idaho Republican Party or its platform and resolutions to select our candidates is simply not proper. [0:21:53] Section 4. The Idaho Republican Party opposes ranked choice voting and any other iterations of ranked choice voting, such as star voting, ballot exhaustion, and instant runoff. [0:22:13] Section 5. [0:22:43] We believe it's important not to legitimize or support any practice that would diminish and or disenfranchise the voting citizens of Idaho. [0:22:57] Article 3. Education. [0:22:59] The Idaho Republican Party recognizes that the future of this great state lies with our faith and reliance on God, our Creator, in our strong efforts to uphold family values and in the quality of the education provided for its citizens. [0:23:13] We believe that successful education is a joint responsibility of the individual, the family, and the community. [0:23:22] As with government in general, we believe the most effective, responsible, and responsive educational system is that system closest to the people. [0:23:32] Section 1. [0:23:34] We recognize the importance of early childhood education. [0:23:37] We also believe individuals, families, and private sector best meet the needs of early childhood education only in the rarest situations should government assume the responsibilities reserved to parents. [0:23:53] Subsection A. [0:23:55] Our nation's founding documentation in public education, the United States of America, was founded on legal, political, and economic systems based on Judeo-Christian principles. [0:24:07] We support curricula whose foundation, text, and supplemental documentation are the original founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution, and the Founders' Writings. [0:24:21] Subsection B. Religious Freedom in Public Schools. [0:24:25] We believe that school administrators and officials should not infringe on Idaho school students and staff's First Amendment rights to pray and engage in religious speech individually or in groups on school property without government interference. [0:24:43] We believe the legislature should end censorship of discussion of religion in our founding documents and encourage discussing those documents, including the Bible, as their basis. [0:24:55] Students and district personnel have the right to display religious symbols, religious items on school property. [0:25:03] Section 2. [0:25:05] We believe parents have the right to educate their children at home, [0:25:09] that court rulings that undermine these rights devalue the important role of parents and family in a child's education. [0:25:17] Section 3. We believe in improving the quality of education for every child by maximizing parental choice. [0:25:29] This will be accomplished through money following students to their parents' school of choice. [0:25:34] We support all educational environments desired by parents, including public charter schools, public virtual charter schools, home schools, schooling at home, micro schools, learning pods, co-ops, private and parochial schools, and accountable public school systems. [0:25:56] Section 4. [0:25:57] We believe all students are entitled to our support and to fair and equitable funding and therefore strongly support the adoption of a change to Idaho's public school funding formula that includes school choice through an education savings account and more evenly distributes state funds while holding our rural schools harmless. [0:26:21] Nothing in this section compels a family to receive in any way government support. [0:26:27] Section 5. We support efforts to improve our public school system, including introducing market forces to our school system and providing our school system, our public school system and its leaders with ample discretion in hiring decisions and how best to spend the funds provided to it by taxpayers to meet local needs. [0:26:50] We also recognize that more government spending does not necessarily generate improved schools. [0:26:59] Section 6. [0:27:00] We strongly support professional, technical, and continuing education programs that provide [0:27:06] career readiness and college preparation, but do not support using taxpayer funding [0:27:12] for programs beyond high school. [0:27:15] Section 7. [0:27:15] We recognize the importance of Idaho's higher education system in continuing the education of our citizens. [0:27:23] The education and research that occurs at our institutions of higher learning contributes substantially to a vigorous economy, heightened competition, and a vibrant participatory government. [0:27:33] Section 8. We are strongly opposed to any social justice indoctrination that may occur at any level of Idaho's education system and support public policy and financial measures to prohibit universities, colleges, or public schools from incorporating social justice indoctrination theories, i.e. critical race theory, transformative social-emotional learning, diversity, equity, and inclusion, replacement theory, [0:28:03] queer theory, etc. into their policies, curriculum, and or course materials. [0:28:09] Section 9. We are proud of our many dedicated professional teachers and educators who have [0:28:16] committed their lives to educating Idaho's children. We value the contribution of our [0:28:21] teachers. We value the contribution our teachers make to our society. We support the efforts to [0:28:28] reward great teachers for their hard work. We support incentives for teachers so that our best [0:28:34] educators are willing to remain in the classroom and work with our children. We believe that [0:28:40] teachers should be treated like professionals and compensated at a level commensurate with [0:28:46] their abilities and in a manner that rewards quality instruction, not time in the profession [0:28:52] or amount of education. Section 10. We believe that in order for public education to be successful, [0:29:01] schools and families should work together with mutual respect and cooperation. We believe [0:29:06] parental rights are paramount and that parents have the God-given right to direct their child's [0:29:12] education. This includes the right to decide what their children are learning, the right to inspect [0:29:18] any educational materials used in the education of their child. The right to determine their [0:29:24] child's health, safety, and medical treatment, including masks and vaccinations, and the right [0:29:30] to visit their child's classroom with limited restrictions. These rights should be enumerated [0:29:36] in Idaho code. Section 11. We recognize the increasing role of technology in society. [0:29:43] We encourage policymakers and educators to be leaders in promoting such new opportunities while ensuring data privacy for students and parents. [0:29:54] Section 12. [0:29:55] We believe in accountability for those who are making decisions about the public education and higher education system in Idaho and therefore support the direct election of the members of the Idaho State Board of Education on a regional basis, thereby providing each of Idaho a voice. [0:30:13] Section 13. We support amending Idaho code to sever the state of Idaho's affiliation with any accrediting body at the K-12 or post-secondary level that promotes ideological agendas antithetical to the values and principles of the Idaho Republican Party platform, including but not limited to social justice, indoctrination, diversity, equity, and inclusion frameworks, or progressive gender ideology. [0:30:42] We further support Idaho's recognition of alternative accrediting bodies that affirm traditional academic standards, parental rights, and the values of Idaho families, ensuring that Idaho institutions are not coerced into adopting ideological requirements as a condition for accreditation. [0:31:06] Article 4. Agriculture. [0:31:09] The Idaho Republican Party believes a strong and viable agricultural industry is one of the most important cornerstones in the foundation of our state, national, and global economy and security. [0:31:22] Section 1. We believe agricultural education and awareness is vital to creating and maintaining strong and vital agricultural industry. [0:31:31] Section 2. We believe Idaho's farmers and ranchers should be able to compete freely and trade fairly in foreign markets. [0:31:39] We recognize that the primary function of government in agriculture should be service, research, and the promotion of markets. [0:31:47] We oppose the use of an embargo of agricultural products as an instrument of foreign policy. [0:31:55] Section 3. [0:31:57] We recognize that water is vital to Idaho agriculture and other industries. [0:32:02] We believe modification of Idaho's historic water laws must be considered with extreme caution. [0:32:08] The federal government shall not infringe upon state jurisdiction over Idaho water. [0:32:15] Section four, we endorse the preservation and strengthening of the family farm unit as the foundation of agriculture and one of the basic strengths of this nation. [0:32:28] Article five, water. [0:32:31] The Idaho Republican Party recognizes the critical importance of water to this state. [0:32:41] We will aggressively defend Idaho's right to appropriate and manage water within its own borders without interference from the federal government. [0:32:51] Section one, we support continued federal and state legislation to prevent interbasin transfer of Idaho's water to other areas. [0:33:01] Section two, we encourage policies that will more fully use and develop our water while supporting the Idaho state law of prior appropriation based on the principle of first in time, first in first in time is first in right for the benefit of all Idahoans. [0:33:21] Section 3. We believe that safeguards exist to protect Idaho's scenic and recreational rivers without creating more restrictions or regulations on Idaho's river system. [0:33:34] Section 4. [0:34:04] through established rental pools. Section 5. We support increased retention of Idaho water [0:34:12] through recharge and the acquisition of new reservoir sites. Section 6. We support the [0:34:20] quality of private life and the economic stability of Idaho families, communities, [0:34:25] and industries, and oppose removal or breaching of existing dams. Section 7. We [0:34:34] We support all legal opposition to any and all efforts to usurp Idaho's sovereignty over the water within Idaho borders. [0:34:43] Further, we support the Attorney General in defending the state's position on these and all other water issues [0:34:50] and support the state legislature in continuing to adequately fund Idaho Constitutional Defense Fund. [0:34:57] Article 6, Natural Resources and Environment [0:35:04] The Idaho Republican Party recognizes that the beautiful and fruitful land that we have been given by God our Creator [0:35:12] must be properly cared for to ensure that its rich blessings will continue to be enjoyed for generations to come. [0:35:20] Section 1. We believe that it is ultimately the individual's responsibility to act as stewards of their environment. [0:35:29] The quality of our natural environment should be protected and enhanced while allowing reasonable orderly growth with emphasis on multiple uses, local control, and minimal government regulation. [0:35:42] Section 2. We believe that administration of federal environmental policy must not be modified. [0:35:50] I strike that. [0:35:53] Section 2. We believe the administration of federal environmental policy must be modified. [0:35:59] These policies must give equal consideration to potential human suffering caused by restriction or elimination of basic human needs, such as jobs, energy, and overall quality of life. [0:36:14] We support federal and state measures to reestablish the primacy of state government for implementation of environmental policy. [0:36:23] Section 3. We discourage international regulations on industry which attempt to halt the production of certain industrial byproducts. [0:36:33] Instead, we encourage citizens to adopt buying habits that promote a clean earth. [0:36:40] Section 4. We recognize Idaho's need for the utilization of natural resources, for Idaho's economic growth, and for the benefit of all Idahoans. [0:36:50] The dimensions and boundaries of our wilderness area should be determined by Idahoans. [0:36:56] The remaining roadless areas should be released for multiple uses. [0:37:03] That should probably be one word. [0:37:07] Section 5. [0:37:09] We advocate congressional action to limit presidential authority in creating or expanding national parks and monuments [0:37:17] pursuant to the Antiquities Act. [0:37:20] Section 6. We support the concept of forest health because it promotes long-term land use, including livestock grazing, timber, wildlife, improved air quality, recreation, mining, and all other beneficial forest uses for the people of Idaho. [0:37:38] Section 7. We encourage the state of Idaho to seek authority to oversee the utilization of natural resources on federal lands within the state. [0:37:47] Article 7 [0:37:51] Energy [0:37:52] Section 1 [0:37:55] The Idaho Republican Party believes that the United States [0:37:58] shall at all times strive to become energy independent. [0:38:02] Section 2 [0:38:03] We strongly support energy policies that encourage research [0:38:07] and development of our energy resources including natural gas, [0:38:12] hydroelectric power, petroleum, nuclear energy, and new technologies. [0:38:17] Section 3. We support efforts to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. We support efforts to increase American exploration and production of American crude oil and natural gas and support voluntary efforts to improve efficiencies and promote conservation. [0:38:36] Congress must end its ban on American energy exploration on U.S. soil and on the outer continental shelf and provide for additional American refining capacity. [0:38:50] We must make America's resources available to U.S. citizens. [0:38:55] Section 4. Idaho has the lowest electrical rates of the 50 states. [0:39:00] Nothing should be done in the deregulation process that might raise those rates. [0:39:05] Section 5. The benefits of hydroelectric power should be retained for the citizens of Idaho. [0:39:13] Section 6. We oppose any mandated deregulation that would negatively impact ratepayers. [0:39:20] Section 7. We support the Center for Advanced Energy Studies and other coordinated efforts in energy research and development and their applications to the utilities industry within Idaho. [0:39:33] Article 8, Idaho National Laboratories. [0:40:03] We further support new nuclear technology that has greater safety, produces less waste, and resists proliferation. [0:40:14] Section 2. We encourage our congressional delegation, the state, the Department of Energy, and the Idaho National Labs Management to assure continued research and development, transfer of technology, new missions, and development of alternate energy treatments and storage methods. [0:40:35] Article 9. Private Property Rights. [0:40:38] The Republican Party believes in the Fifth Amendment to the United States Constitution. [0:40:44] Quote, no person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law, nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation. [0:40:56] Unquote. We oppose any federal or state regulation. We oppose any federal, state or local regulation that would diminish a property owner's right to develop his property. [0:41:10] We believe property tax is incompatible with true private property ownership. [0:41:17] A tax that allows the government to place a lien on and ultimately seize a citizen's home for nonpayment is fundamentally at odds with the right to own property. [0:41:30] No Idahoan should face the loss of their home because they cannot keep up with a government assessment of what their property might sell for. [0:41:38] We support the elimination of property taxes to protect the private property rights of all Idahoans. [0:41:47] Article 10, State and Federal Lands. [0:41:51] The Idaho Republican Party believes that due to the state and federal governments administering the majority of Idaho lands, [0:42:00] we need to limit and reduce the amount of land owned or administered by the federal government. [0:42:06] We believe Idaho should manage and administer all state and federal lands. [0:42:12] Article 11, Wildlife Management. [0:42:16] The Idaho Republican Party recognizes the value of wildlife resources of the state. [0:42:23] Section 1, we encourage the Idaho Department of Fish and Game to manage fish and wildlife to enhance fishing, hunting, [0:42:31] and hunting opportunities for Idahoans and the tourist industry while respecting private property rights of landowners. [0:42:39] Section 2. We oppose federal designations which restrict or eliminate hunting, fishing, and recreational access to lands in Idaho. [0:42:50] Section 3. We oppose the reintroduction of wolves and grizzlies into Idaho. [0:42:56] We support managed control of these predators through the Idaho Fish and Game Department. [0:43:03] Article 12, Economy [0:43:06] The Idaho Republican Party believes that economic growth is the key to enhancing the quality of life our people so richly deserve. [0:43:17] Fiscal responsibility in the form of balanced state and federal budgets is essential to achieve this goal. [0:43:24] A competitive market free of undue governmental competition, restriction, coercion, or interference is critical to Idaho's economic well-being. [0:43:35] Section 1. Commerce and Industry. [0:43:38] Subsection A. [0:43:40] We encourage the broadening and strengthening of Idaho's commerce and industry, including but not limited to agriculture, timber, mining, manufacturing, processing, technology, tourism, and other industries. [0:43:52] b. We encourage the responsible use of our natural resources to broaden and enhance Idaho's economy. [0:44:01] We support innovative and responsible programs by industry to reduce pollution in every practical way. [0:44:09] Government should intervene only where such efforts fail or must be supplemented by law. [0:44:15] C. We endorse the economic development and expansion in Idaho and pledge to make every effort to provide a business climate that will attract such growth. [0:44:27] Section 2. Support for small businesses. [0:44:31] Subsection A. We recognize the important role of small businesses in Idaho's economy and that we must maintain a regulatory environment where small business is allowed to thrive. [0:44:43] Excessive regulatory requirements must be reduced and eliminated. [0:44:49] B. We support a tax code that is simple, fair, and equitable. [0:44:54] C. We support a business environment that promotes development and expansion of businesses in Idaho [0:45:01] and eliminates all onerous, repressive government regulation. [0:45:07] Section 3. Labor [0:45:08] We believe that both the employer and the employee share a joint responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment without excessive regulation. [0:45:20] B, we support education and professional technical education to develop a well-trained workforce, but do not support funding education with taxpayer money beyond high school. [0:45:31] C. We believe that public employees should be hired, retained, and promoted based on individual merit and that they should be fairly and equitably compensated comparable to private industry. [0:45:46] Section 4. Transportation [0:45:48] We believe transportation is an integral part of our commerce and industry and it must meet the unique needs of Idaho. [0:45:56] We believe transportation decisions and funds should be managed at the local and state level. [0:46:03] Article 13, Health and Welfare. [0:46:07] The Idaho Republican Party recognizes the need for effective and accessible health care for all individuals. [0:46:15] Regulations that forbid Idahoans from buying insurance across state lines should be eliminated. [0:46:21] Section 1, Private Enterprise Health Care Delivery System. [0:46:26] We support a private enterprise healthcare delivery system that provides cost-effective quality healthcare with minimal government regulation. [0:46:35] Section 2. Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act. [0:46:40] A. We oppose socialized medicine and government-mandated health insurance. [0:46:47] B. We support the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act in its entirety. [0:46:56] Section 3, General Principles for Healthcare. [0:47:00] Subsection A, Conscience Clause. [0:47:04] All persons and legal entities have the right of conscience and should be protected under Idaho law [0:47:12] if they conscientiously object to participate in practices that conflict with their moral or religious beliefs. [0:47:19] This includes, but is not limited to, abortion. [0:47:22] The prescription for and dispensing of drugs with abortifacient potential, vaccination, human cloning, embryonic stem cell research, eugenic screenings, euthanasia, assisted suicide, harmful, futile procedures, and the withdrawal of nutrition and hydration. [0:47:43] b. We believe the primary responsibility for the health and welfare of our citizens resides with [0:47:52] the individual and their families. c. We support freedom of choice and personal responsibility [0:47:58] of legal adults in all medical decisions, including providers and treatments. Medicine [0:48:05] should have a, quote, level playing field, unquote, for all treatment and branches of medicine. [0:48:11] D. We support as supreme the authority of parents in all medical decisions for their children, including providers and treatments. [0:48:22] E. All legal adults receiving health care should have legal capacity to give informed consent and should be so situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion. [0:48:48] Section 4. Health Savings Accounts and Insurance [0:48:52] A. We believe that individual responsibility for health care should be encouraged through medical savings accounts and other viable free market alternatives. [0:49:03] b. We support the rights of individuals to select their health care and insurance provider. [0:49:10] c. We believe health and welfare programs should be administered with a minimum of bureaucracy [0:49:15] and the goal of helping all recipients return to a self-sustaining and productive life. [0:49:22] Section 5. Child Support [0:49:25] We support the enforcement of child support laws to assure the restoration of parental responsibility [0:49:31] and the enhancement of financial security for children. [0:49:38] Article 14, American Family. [0:49:42] The Idaho Republican Party believes that traditional family values are the foundation of our nation. [0:49:50] Families, not government programs, are the best way to properly nurture and protect our children, [0:49:55] care for our elderly, preserve and perpetuate our cultural and spiritual heritage, [0:50:01] and assure that our traditional values are transmitted to the next generation. [0:50:07] Many of the ills of society can be attributed to the breakdown of the family. [0:50:13] We believe the traditional family to be the basic unit of society. [0:50:18] Section 1. Government's role. [0:50:21] A. We believe that state and federal social and fiscal programs [0:50:26] should reinforce parental responsibility and authority [0:50:30] and not promote or reward the disintegration of the family. [0:50:35] B, we support a tax system that strengthens a family's economic ability [0:50:40] to care for and support its members. [0:50:44] Section 2, traditional marriage. [0:50:46] We call upon Idaho government officials and legislators [0:50:51] to protect the traditional family and use all means possible [0:50:56] to prevent expansion of the definition of marriage beyond that of a bond between one man and one woman. [0:51:04] We recognize that the definition of marriage and its administration is not subject to federal [0:51:09] authority and that Idaho is authorized to nullify any federal congressional act, federal mandate, [0:51:17] or court opinion that is contrary to traditional marriage. B, we recognize traditional marriage [0:51:24] without the issuance of a marriage license [0:51:33] for those who, for religious purposes, [0:51:37] object to the role of the state in licensing traditional marriage. [0:51:43] There should be commas here. [0:51:47] Section 3, Right to Life. [0:51:50] Subsection A. [0:51:51] We affirm that human personhood begins at the moment of fertilization and ought to be protected and cherished from that moment on. [0:52:00] We affirm that the intentional taking of human life through the act of abortion is murder. [0:52:07] All children should be protected regardless of the circumstances of conception, including persons conceived in rape and incest. [0:52:16] The federal judiciary played the tyrant in dozens of Supreme Court pro-abortion opinions since Roe v. Wade up to the Dobbs decision, and Idaho has the sovereign authority to defy the federal judiciary should they once again propose the fiction that abortion is a federal constitutional right. [0:52:39] We support the criminalization of all murders by abortion within the state's jurisdiction. [0:52:46] We also support strengthening the Idaho Constitution's Declaration of the Right to Life for Preborn Children. [0:52:54] B. We reaffirm our support for the sanctity of life from fertilization to natural death and for the rights of the unborn child. [0:53:03] We oppose abortion based on sex selection, convenience, or as a method of birth control. [0:53:11] C. We oppose partial birth abortion, and we support legislation to abolish its practice. [0:53:20] D. We oppose all actions which intentionally end an innocent human life, including abortion, [0:53:27] the destruction of human embryos, euthanasia, and assisted suicide. [0:53:33] We oppose the expenditure of any E. [0:53:37] We oppose the expenditure of any Idaho taxpayer funds or any unit of government, including federal, state, county, and municipal government, to any provider of abortion and strongly support legislation to enact the same. [0:53:52] F. We strongly encourage adoption as an alternative to abortion and support legislation that expands opportunities and provides assistance to the adoptive process. [0:54:04] Section 4. Children [0:54:07] The Idaho Republican Party recognizes that children are a heritage of the Lord. [0:54:12] We believe parents, not the state, have a sacred duty and a legal right to rear their children in love and righteousness and to provide for their temporal and spiritual needs and to teach them to be law-abiding citizens. [0:54:28] I amended that line. [0:54:31] Just putting that out there. [0:54:33] Anyway. [0:54:33] We believe biological gender to be an essential characteristic of a child's integrity and purpose. [0:54:40] We call upon parents, responsible citizens, and officers of government to promote measures that respect and protect the biological gender of children. [0:54:51] We strongly oppose any person, entity, or policy that attempts to confuse minors regarding their biological gender. [0:55:00] The Idaho Republican Party opposes the sexual exploitation of minors in any form. [0:55:07] Article 15, Older Americans, Section 1. [0:55:37] Section 2. We oppose policies that penalize older Americans who continue to work. [0:55:46] Article 16. Law and Order with Justice. [0:55:50] The Idaho Republican Party believes that individuals must be presumed innocent until proven guilty. [0:55:57] After a person is convicted of a crime, however, we believe in swift and just punishment for the lawbreaker [0:56:04] and the timely payment of restitution to victims. [0:56:07] Courts and the prosecutors should continue to recognize the substantial rights and interests of crime victims in the judicial process. [0:56:16] Section 1. Gun Rights. Subsection A. [0:56:21] We support the right of the individual to keep and bear arms, as guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. [0:56:28] We believe in Article 1, Section 11 of the Idaho State Constitution should be strengthened to provide at least the same and preferably greater protections than those contained in the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution. [0:56:44] B, we recommend efforts of organizations to preserve and foster that right, including right to carry laws. [0:56:52] c. We believe the federal government should not regulate intrastate ammunition and firearm sales [0:56:59] d. We believe in protection of the American firearms industry against harassing lawsuits [0:57:05] that blame them for the acts of criminals e. We call for more enforcement of current laws [0:57:12] against violent criminals not more gun control aimed at law-abiding citizens f. We strongly [0:57:21] oppose the United States entering any international agreements or treaties which would undermine, [0:57:28] limit, or interfere with the individual right to own and bear arms and ammunition. [0:57:33] G. We support the repeal of the 1986 Firearms Owners Protection Act and the abolition of the [0:57:41] Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Section 2. Death Penalty. [0:57:49] We believe the death penalty is an appropriate consequence for the most heinous crimes and that further reform should be made to the appellate process so that penalty can be carried out in a timely process. [0:58:06] Section 3. Drug Use. [0:58:09] Subsection A. [0:58:11] We recognize the dreadful consequences of drug and substance abuse in our society, and we call upon our national, state, and local leaders to refocus efforts to discourage drug use and rehabilitate drug users. [0:58:27] We encourage all Idaho citizens and their religious, civic, and community organizations to be actively engaged in this effort. [0:58:38] I'm going to read that sentence again because I lost my place. [0:58:43] We encourage all Idaho citizens and their religious, civic, and community organizations [0:58:48] to be actively engaged in this effort. [0:58:52] B, we support creative alternative sentencing such as drug courts and treatment for nonviolent [0:58:58] drug offenders. [0:59:00] Section 4, incarceration of criminals. [0:59:02] We recognize the enormous financial burden placed upon society by criminals. [0:59:08] Therefore, we support requiring inmates, to the extent that they are capable, to perform labor or otherwise contribute to the cost of their incarceration. [0:59:18] B, we support programming and education in the corrections system to rehabilitate offenders. [0:59:25] Section 5, Juvenile Justice. [0:59:28] We support accountability and rehabilitation of juvenile offenders. [0:59:32] B. We support dealing with youthful offenders early to reduce future impact to the welfare and correction systems. [0:59:41] Section 6. State Sovereignty [0:59:44] We recognize Idaho is a sovereign state. [0:59:48] Therefore, we have the right to defend against foreign invasions. [0:59:52] We believe that Idaho has the right and obligation to remove from our state any and all people that are unlawfully present within our borders. [1:00:02] Article 17, National Defense, Securing the Border. [1:00:07] The Idaho Republican Party believes in peace through strength and that having and keeping the strongest military in the world is essential to preserving our liberties. [1:00:18] We believe we should never sacrifice liberty for security and oppose any limitations or incursions on the constitutional freedoms, rights, and liberties of American citizens. [1:00:29] We strongly support the Idaho National Guard under the command of Idaho's governor. [1:00:36] Section 1. Veterans. [1:00:39] We believe that America owes her continued freedom to the service of military veterans. [1:00:45] We reinforce our commitment to providing for their needs and honoring them with the highest degree of respect and appreciation. [1:00:52] Section 2. National Missile Defense. [1:00:55] We support an effective national missile defense system to protect American citizens. [1:01:02] We oppose efforts to re-enter the ABM Treaty or any other treaty restricting America's ability to protect itself from attack. [1:01:11] Section 3. Mountain Home Air Force Base [1:01:14] We support Mountain Home Air Force Base in its vital mission of protecting Idaho and the nation. [1:01:21] We recognize and value the economic contribution that the base makes to our state. [1:01:28] Section 4. Idaho Army and Air National Guard. [1:01:33] The governor is the commander-in-chief of the Idaho National Guard and is responsible for protecting the safety of Idaho residents by maintaining the guard's readiness and ability to deploy. [1:01:45] The governor is also responsible for the guardsmen who volunteer to serve in the state of Idaho. [1:01:50] Beyond readiness and training, federal use of the National Guard should be for the purposes identified in the Constitution, to enforce the laws of the Union, to put down an insurrection, and to repeal an invasion. [1:02:06] the idaho army and air national guard should only be deployed for combat operations outside [1:02:15] the united states with the authority from title 10 usc after congress has exercised its enumerated [1:02:23] power to declare war we oppose any attempt to transfer idaho national guard elements to the [1:02:30] Space Force, the Reserves, or any other state without regard to our governor's authority. [1:02:36] We call on the congressmen and senators from the state of Idaho to defend our Idaho National Guard [1:02:43] elements, equipment, personnel, units, and funding from the federal government's overreach or any [1:02:49] punitive actions for honoring, obeying, and sustaining the law. Section 5, securing the [1:02:57] border. The Constitution of the United States guarantees to every state in this union, quote, [1:03:04] a Republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion. Securing the [1:03:11] national border must be a top priority for our country. We support the construction of a border [1:03:17] wall along the entire southern border of the United States. When the federal government fails [1:03:24] to protect the natural rights of life, liberty, and property of Idaho citizens, the state must [1:03:30] intervene. To this end, the United States Constitution, Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3, [1:03:38] State Self-Defense Clause, and Article 4, Section 4, the Guarantee Clause, allows for the governor, [1:03:45] as the commander-in-chief of the Idaho National Guard, to use the active militia and the Idaho [1:03:52] National Guard and its assets to repeal an invasion. We now have an unsustainable crisis [1:04:01] at our nation's border due to the federal government's dereliction of duty in allowing [1:04:07] an overwhelming invasion of illegal aliens into the United States. These illegal aliens commit [1:04:15] a crime by entering our nation without authorization, documentation, or vetting, [1:04:20] and with enmity violate the clear language and intent of the laws of our republic. [1:04:27] These illegal aliens should be deported. [1:04:31] Crime is not the basis of good citizenship. [1:04:34] We oppose supporting illegal aliens by way of free access to housing, healthcare, technology, [1:04:43] voting rights, or an unearned path to amnesty and citizenship as a reward for entering the [1:04:50] United States illegally. We support the detainment and prosecution of any person or organization [1:04:57] aiding and abetting such individuals described above. The governor shall use the active militia [1:05:06] and the Idaho National Guard and its assets to repeal this de facto invasion that threatens [1:05:13] the safety and security of Idaho's citizens. Section six, combating terrorism. We support [1:05:21] efforts to combat terrorism within the scope of the Constitution, including the use of military [1:05:27] force when authorized by Congress. Section seven, command of forces. We believe American troops [1:05:36] should not be used as quote world policemen, unquote. UN operations should be supported by [1:05:44] a multinational coalition. And if the United States forces are committed to UN operations by [1:05:50] Congress, the United States should retain command and control of its forces. Section eight, [1:05:57] non-interventionism. War is a last resort and is for the defense of America's borders, [1:06:06] her territory, her citizens, and their liberty. We reject the desire to militarily police the [1:06:14] world and dictate relations between foreign and faraway countries with histories and conflicts [1:06:21] not our own. We desire for the American people complete and unconditional sovereign control [1:06:29] over their government, contravening any supranational organization or foreign lobby. [1:06:37] We maintain that war powers granted by the United States Constitution rest in the legislative branch [1:06:45] and this nation can only enter armed conflict through a declaration of war by Congress. [1:06:53] In foreign relations, we must be guided by the wise and humble principle of America first. [1:07:01] We will not wittingly sacrifice our children and their future prosperity [1:07:06] to dictate how other countries govern themselves. [1:07:09] meddling in the affairs of other countries with military aid and influence [1:07:15] furthers neither our American way of life nor our future security interests. [1:07:23] That may be one of the most important sections of the entire platform. [1:07:30] Section 9, declarations of war. [1:07:33] We believe Congress ought not abdicate war powers to the executive branch except when under imminent threat. [1:07:43] Offensive, preemptive, first-strike military use must be authorized with the people's consent through an Article I, Section 8 Constitutional Declaration of War. [1:07:58] Article 18, right? Article 18. [1:08:03] Yes. Article 18, election of judges in Idaho Supreme Court judges. The Idaho Republican Party opposes any attempt to undermine the constitutional rights of the people to select judges and justices in an open and competitive election process. [1:08:23] We support the election of judges in a partisan election process. [1:08:29] We oppose any interpretation of the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the state of Idaho that is not rooted in principles of textualism and originalism. [1:08:40] We emphatically affirm that judges have a, quote, duty to interpret statutory terms to, quote, mean what they conveyed to reasonable people at the time that they were written, unquote. [1:08:53] Bostock v. Clayton County 590 U.S. 2020. [1:08:58] That's the dissenting opinion from Justice Alito. [1:09:05] Article 19, Religious Liberty. [1:09:08] The Idaho Republican Party believes religious freedom is a fundamental human right [1:09:13] and essential for any society or community to flourish. [1:09:18] We oppose any efforts, state or federal, legislative, executive, or judicial, [1:09:23] to limit the free exercise of religion by its citizens at home, [1:09:28] their place of employment, or venues otherwise publicly available. [1:09:33] We oppose any efforts by the Congress of the United States [1:09:37] to limit the scope or applicability of the Bipartisan Religious Freedom Act of 1993. [1:09:46] And that's it. [1:09:48] That is your Idaho Republican Party platform in full, cover to cover. [1:09:52] So, it's important because this document has been built over decades, since the early 1980s, through a process of reform and adding a sentence, striking a sentence, debating at these conventions for the past 20 or 30 years. [1:10:13] That is how we have received this Idaho Republican Party platform. It was not created in a day. It was revised over decades of work by our community members, our friends and our neighbors. I have contributed to the Republican Party platform. A lot of people that watch this show have actually also contributed to the Republican Party platform, and it serves as the basis of unity for our party. [1:10:40] If you don't support at least 80% of this platform, you should leave. [1:10:50] You should leave the party. [1:10:51] You can go be a libertarian. [1:10:53] You can be a Democrat. [1:10:54] We have a constitution party here in Idaho. [1:10:57] If you disagree with the platform, if you disagree with most of the platform, you should leave. [1:11:04] And that's what we've been fighting about for a very, very long time. [1:11:06] Now, not to give too much commentary on this, there were a couple of things. Number one, [1:11:13] for those that are paying attention, for those of us grabbing our pen and paper, [1:11:19] you know, we're already planning the next GOP convention in two years. There are some issues [1:11:24] that I found through this reading. Number one would be in Article 1, Section 1, Subsection E, [1:11:30] We are missing a period, folks. We need a period there, okay? So we are missing a period there. [1:11:39] There was one section I noted that there should be commas, commas kind of offsetting something. [1:11:47] You know, and then there are certain other things that could be changed, [1:11:53] such as the striking of the word Judeo from Judeo-Christian principles. It should just say [1:11:59] Christian principles. I think that would be sufficient. And also, frankly, you want to know [1:12:07] what the biggest problem is that I have at the Idaho Republican Party? You want to know what it [1:12:12] is? It's not what's there. It's not what's enumerated in the pages. It's what's missing. [1:12:21] And there is something missing from the Idaho Republican Party platform. Chat, [1:12:26] chat can you tell me what's missing [1:12:28] what didn't you hear [1:12:30] in the Idaho Republican Party [1:12:33] that should have been there [1:12:34] Willie 2X says [1:12:38] ban Satanism [1:12:40] based [1:12:41] true [1:12:42] no the name of our blessed Lord Jesus Christ [1:12:47] is not in the platform [1:12:49] and [1:12:50] it should be [1:12:51] we owe everything [1:12:53] to our creator [1:12:55] our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I think it would be fitting that his name, [1:13:02] his holy name, be in our platform. Willie2x says, polygraph testing for candidates. [1:13:12] Yeah, we could put that in there too. But yeah, so I mean, but you can see how the process works, [1:13:18] right? It's like you see, oh, we're missing a period there, or this or that, and you start [1:13:24] to get your own ideas and you see, ooh, this sentence could be a little bit better if we [1:13:28] reworded it this way. And, you know, so that's how this has been constructed. And I think throwing [1:13:34] it out would be a grave error. I think that this process of development over time has been very [1:13:42] good. And like I said, how many times, how many times do Republicans elect somebody to office [1:13:50] because they say they're a Republican [1:13:52] and then they legislate like a Democrat. [1:13:56] I'm looking at you, Mike Simpson, Mike Crapo, right? [1:14:00] I'm looking at you, Brad Little. [1:14:05] They say they're Republican. [1:14:08] We have this ideological declaration [1:14:11] of what it is that we believe [1:14:12] and what it is that we would implement [1:14:14] if we were to take power. [1:14:17] Well, we have power, [1:14:19] but we're not getting this stuff done. Why? Because we've got rhinos. And that's why all [1:14:25] of this mechanics that we've been building here in the state of Idaho [1:14:28] are enforced with our platform enforcement. It's like going to a store and buying a Coca-Cola, [1:14:37] cracking it open, and then it's a Sprite. You know, like you didn't want to buy a Sprite, [1:14:42] you wanted to buy a Coke. You wanted to vote for an Idaho Republican. And this platform is what [1:14:48] Idaho Republicans pledge that they'll do. So when we vote for a Republican, this is what we expect [1:14:55] of them. Not Rick Cheatham or Dick Cheatham or whatever his name is. Amnesty, Stephanie Mickelson [1:15:02] down there in East Idaho, right? We are against illegal immigration. We are against amnesty. We [1:15:10] are against all of that. We are against foreign intervention. We're against explicitly foreign [1:15:15] lobbies, which is why it's a good thing that we've rejected the resolution that we did, [1:15:21] because it is in conflict with the party platform. Somebody said the sacred heart of Jesus should be [1:15:27] in the platform. Yes. Yeah. And see, now we're cooking with gas. Now we're cooking with gas. [1:15:33] And yeah, I think that this is, once again, I mean, the things I disagree with, like one word, [1:15:43] like one word, right? There are people out there that disagree with a lot on this Republican [1:15:51] party. And also I just want to throw it out there that as, as the party is struggling through this [1:15:59] internal battle, these factions, we have factions in this party that are, that are different. The [1:16:04] Rhino faction, the freedom faction, you know, we have all these different warring factions. [1:16:09] and what I want to point out there [1:16:13] because there's a lot of people that hate me [1:16:14] and they think I'm some sort of extremist [1:16:16] that I would do all kinds of crazy stuff [1:16:18] if I were ever elected governor [1:16:19] I would be doing what's in the platform [1:16:22] period [1:16:24] that's why we're here [1:16:26] that's why we're [1:16:27] you know electing people [1:16:29] is to carry out the will of the people [1:16:31] as enumerated in the Idaho party platform [1:16:34] we're not going to have a [1:16:36] LGBT genocide [1:16:38] if we elect a right-wing Republican in Idaho, okay? [1:16:44] You don't have to worry about that. [1:16:46] Nobody's going to die. [1:16:48] But we are going to uphold the law. [1:16:50] We are going to protect family values. [1:16:53] We are going to defund public education to the extent that we can [1:16:58] and have the money follow the students. [1:17:02] And so, yeah, yeah. [1:17:04] The Wing at Hussar says the platform should be elevated [1:17:06] to the level of a contract, break any of it, and you are automatically replaced. [1:17:12] True. Well, that's one of the things, and one of the reasons why this fight against people like [1:17:18] Brent Regan and Dorothy Moon has been so vicious. It's because we have been implementing ways to [1:17:26] enforce the platform. We call it platform enforcement. And if we elect somebody, [1:17:30] like what happened to Stephanie Mickelson, and there was another one down in Lataw County, [1:17:35] I can't remember her name, Cook, maybe. And they get elected. They go to the legislature. They vote like Democrats. And then they get a warning. And then if they don't respond to the warning, they get a second warning. [1:17:54] Then they get called into a tribunal that is held by the local, their local county central committee. And they are called to explain why they voted out of accordance with the party platform. And if their answers are not good enough, they get stripped of their ability to call themselves Republicans. [1:18:16] That is happening. That is in the platform. That is making its way into the rules and bylaws of many of our central committees here in Idaho. [1:18:28] because once again, that's what, and that's what this whole rating and vetting thing is about. If [1:18:33] you live here in Kootenai County in North Idaho, you'll know that there's a lot of controversy [1:18:37] about the rating and vetting process. The point of the rating and vetting process is to ensure [1:18:44] that the Republican party supports candidates that support the platform. Doesn't mean you're [1:18:51] going to get the most educated. Doesn't mean that you're going to get the most socially adept. [1:18:56] You might get some nerd running for some wonk policy position, but the point is that they are on brand, that you buy a Coke, and when you crack it open, it is a Coke, and it's not Fanta or Sprite or Coke Zero. [1:19:13] It doesn't taste the same, actually. [1:19:16] It does taste different. [1:19:19] And so that's the Idaho Republican Party platform. [1:19:21] I'm going to upload just a clipped-out part of that without my ranting and my raving. [1:19:26] I know, I know. But it's it's so important. And it's it's like, honestly, such a good platform. [1:19:33] It really is. Go look at the National Republican Party platform. It sucks. I wouldn't be a [1:19:40] Republican if that's all that we had to lean on. But in here, they declare war on the Federal [1:19:47] Reserve, illegal immigration. They ask the governor to stand up to the federal government [1:19:53] and assert our state's rights, that we are a sovereign state. [1:19:58] I agree with all of that. [1:19:59] That's all based. [1:20:01] That's good. [1:20:02] You know, the hydroelectric power, being able to use whatever kind of money you want, gold, [1:20:07] silver, Bitcoin, that's in the party platform. [1:20:09] And that's why I'm a Republican. [1:20:12] I'm a Republican because I believe in the platform, period. [1:20:18] And we shouldn't be calling one another Nazis. [1:20:22] We shouldn't be bringing up things that happened 80 years ago. [1:20:27] We shouldn't be arguing about foreign policy [1:20:29] because we have a platform that enumerates all of it. [1:20:35] And, yeah, well, there's that. [1:20:38] So anyway, that's the Idaho GOP platform. [1:20:43] And I wouldn't have been able to read it here on this stream [1:20:46] if it weren't for your support and the support of our sponsors. [1:20:49] First up, I've got to give a big shout out to Discovery Bricks, 3694, who sent $20 on YouTube. [1:20:59] Good work, brother. [1:21:01] Well, thank you very much for the big super chat. [1:21:04] It does make it all worth it in the end, knowing that I'm actually, even if I only help like five people, man. [1:21:10] But, you know, one of the other reasons why I wanted to do this is because it took an hour to read the platform. [1:21:15] It's a long platform. [1:21:17] And so there's a lot of people out there that are going about their work and their day. [1:21:21] They're not going to sit down and read this 26-page document to figure out what Republicans read. [1:21:25] But you'll be able to put this on 2x speed. [1:21:28] And in your daily commute, you'll be able to consume the entire Republican Party platform and be a little bit more educated than you were yesterday. [1:21:36] That's why I'm doing this, because everybody in Idaho should know the party platform. [1:21:42] They should know the direction that we are trying to take the state. [1:21:46] It's very important. And so thank you to odggsupply.com for helping to make this platform possible, this program possible with their extensive selection of military surplus gear, whether you're going blankie mode or bug out mode. I don't know where they're [1:25:26] going to send their money, but probably them, to fight the abortion initiative that is coming up [1:25:31] this November. We've got to get everybody on board. And also, I wanted to give a shout out [1:25:35] while we're there. There is a group that is gaining some traction here in Idaho called the [1:25:41] White Rose Resistance. Their website is thewhiterose.life. Let me pull this up. [1:25:50] white rose dot life these guys are going to be fighting the abortion initiative here in idaho [1:26:00] so if that is a issue that you are passionate about if you like me believe that god will damn [1:26:08] idaho if we approve of abortion then you need to get active and you need to find a group of people [1:26:17] that you can help with. [1:26:19] And one of those groups [1:26:20] is the White Rose Resistance. [1:26:24] So just throwing that out there. [1:26:26] Throwing that out there. [1:26:27] If you live in Idaho [1:26:28] and you want to fight back, [1:26:29] this is a great way to do it. [1:26:30] Another way, like I said, [1:26:32] is by shopping at IdahoTallow.com. [1:26:35] Use promo code FORLIFE. [1:26:37] You'll get 10% off [1:26:38] and you will help support [1:26:39] the fight against abortion in Idaho. [1:26:42] And you'll get to do it [1:26:43] while clearing up [1:26:44] any skin problems that you have. [1:26:46] I know that it's technically illegal to claim that this product actually does anything medically, but I know a guy that had eczema, and he started using this soap, and now he doesn't have eczema. [1:27:00] So if you've tried everything and nothing has worked, then maybe give Vida Hotello a try, especially if you live in a dry part of the country. [1:27:12] And last but not least, atlasbullion.com. You know, there was that whole section in there about money, right? What did it say in the platform? Metal, right? Yeah, right here. [1:27:29] So in accordance with the Idaho GOP platform, I am encouraging citizens to participate in a systematic acquisition of precious metals or other assets which represent real value as opposed to fiat currencies. [1:27:45] And so in accordance with the Idaho GOP party platform, I want you to go to atlasbullion.com slash backlash and get signed up to stack precious metals the easy way with a gold or silver subscription. [1:28:02] It will allow you to dollar cost average in to precious metals that will hopefully in the long run outpace inflation because you can't print more gold. [1:28:14] You have to mine it. And we have a lot of that here actually in Idaho, but gold and silver, [1:28:20] atlasbullion.com. And now is a fantastic time, by the way, to be doing this. I don't know [1:28:27] if, let me pull up the chart. Here's the chart. Gold is down today. It's been trending down. [1:28:38] silver also trending down [1:28:41] as is Bitcoin [1:28:43] and SpaceX and Tesla [1:28:45] everything's down actually [1:28:47] so that means it's a great time to buy [1:28:49] silver has broken the $60 barrier [1:28:51] you can pick up some silver ounces [1:28:54] I think you could probably buy [1:28:55] like a whole tube of 20 of them [1:28:56] for about you know [1:28:57] $1,200 [1:28:58] down from $2,000 [1:29:01] not too long ago [1:29:02] gold also hovering right around $4,000 an ounce [1:29:06] it is a fantastic time to buy [1:29:08] If you liked gold and silver at, you know, if you liked gold at 5,500 an ounce, and if you liked silver at, you know, $120 an ounce, and you're going to love it at 50. [1:29:17] You're going to love it at $57 an ounce. [1:29:20] So get signed up at atlasbullion.com slash backlash. [1:29:24] And over the long run, over the long period of time, you will actually be able to pass on your hard-earned wealth to your kids and your grandkids. [1:29:37] And that's it. [1:29:38] That does it for the show today. [1:29:40] Thank you, everybody who joined us. [1:29:42] I see Willie, the Winged Hussar, Silent Vector, whatever your name is. [1:29:49] Yeah, yeah, yeah. [1:29:50] Still Hollow7, whoever you people are. [1:29:53] Thank you for joining me today. [1:29:54] I do appreciate it. [1:29:56] Share this with your friends and family. [1:29:58] Help educate them. [1:29:59] And, you know, maybe we can get some of the other state GOP platforms to look a little bit better by studying what we've done here in Idaho. [1:30:08] So that'll do it for me. We will be back, of course, on Monday. [1:30:13] And this Monday, I think we'll be doing an interview with Ben Davidson of Space Weather News. [1:30:21] So we're going to be engaging in some doomerism, some end of the worldism, some apocalyptic ideation, [1:30:28] talking about the fact that the sun may be blowing up slowly and the magnetic field of Earth is weakening. [1:30:36] magnetic north is drifting [1:30:38] and it could [1:30:41] it could be [1:30:43] pointing towards a crazy [1:30:44] catastrophe coming down the pike [1:30:47] so we're going to [1:30:49] engage in some end of the worldism [1:30:51] on Monday's show with Ben Davidson [1:30:53] it's going to be very great but [1:30:54] science based, fact based and [1:30:56] hopefully you'll learn something and you'll have [1:30:59] a totally new fear [1:31:01] a new thing to be completely afraid [1:31:03] of the world blowing [1:31:05] up and all of that. So tune in this coming Monday, next Monday at 3 p.m. Also, I will be joining [1:31:12] Rex Jones on the Gray Area podcast this Sunday to be discussing some of the happenings here in [1:31:20] Idaho. So I will be putting out stuff on there. So make sure that you are following us on all of [1:31:26] our platforms, especially on X. You can also get to all of our platforms at thebacklash.net [1:31:33] slash subscribe. Thank you all for tuning in. God bless and have a great night. Bye-bye. [1:32:03] Thank you.
